Engineering Manager

About the role

Syntetica is scaling a patented nylon‑to‑nylon recycling process and needs an Engineering Manager to lead the process development team. You will turn laboratory concepts into pilot‑scale operations, ensuring the technology can be deployed at industrial scale.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop a team of 6–8 process engineers, handling performance management and career growth.
• Drive execution of process development and scale‑up from lab to demonstration‑scale facilities.
• Collaborate closely with R&D to translate mechanistic insights into robust engineering solutions.
• Oversee mass and energy balances, equipment sizing, PFDs, P&IDs, process‑control philosophy and design reviews.
• Improve process robustness, yield, purity, throughput, energy efficiency and cost.
• Establish engineering standards, documentation practices and design‑review procedures.
• Lead troubleshooting, root‑cause investigations and continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Hands‑on, team‑oriented engineering manager with a passion for developing engineers.
• Experience in early‑stage, high‑growth environments where priorities shift quickly.
• Strong fundamentals in chemical process development and scale‑up.
• Proven leadership ability to build a high‑performing, accountable engineering team.
