Director – Project Finance & Infrastructure

About the role

Scope is seeking a senior professional to lead the analysis of real‑estate, infrastructure and project‑finance transactions within its EU Credit Rating team. You will apply Scope’s proprietary rating methodology to assess credit risk and contribute to the growth of the infrastructure asset class.

Key responsibilities

• Lead analysis of asset‑based, project‑finance and structured‑finance transactions, focusing on real‑estate loans.
• Conduct quantitative and qualitative assessments, including site visits across Europe.
• Review project agreements, contracts and legal documentation to identify structural strengths and weaknesses.
• Define stress‑test assumptions, modify cash‑flow models and calculate expected loss under various scenarios.
• Develop and refine Scope’s rating methodology for different sectors and project types.
• Produce rating reports and sector research, presenting findings to rating committees and external stakeholders.
• Serve as primary contact for at least one project‑finance sector (e.g., energy, transportation, social infrastructure).

Required profile

• 10+ years of post‑graduate professional experience, with at least 5 years in a large rating agency, bank, financial advisory or investor credit‑risk team.
• Deep knowledge of infrastructure, energy or social‑infrastructure finance.
• Master’s degree in engineering or a related field.
