Direct Sourcing and Merchandising Manager

About the role

The Direct Sourcing and Merchandising Manager will shape the company’s international growth by developing sourcing strategies and managing product assortments across multiple categories. This role bridges local market insights with global business objectives, ensuring a competitive and compliant product portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Research local consumer trends, industry landscapes, competitor dynamics and overseas demand to define sourcing and merchandising strategies.
• Identify and engage local brands, manufacturers, distributors, traders and e‑commerce sellers through exhibitions, trade associations, online platforms and business networks; lead negotiations and supplier onboarding.
• Select products that meet market demand and business priorities, oversee product onboarding, listing, pricing and promotions, and coordinate with internal teams to guarantee quality, supply stability and operational efficiency.
• Build and maintain a structured supplier management system, provide operational guidance, monitor performance, optimise cooperation models and manage compliance and operational risks.
• Collaborate with global and cross‑functional teams—including category management, supply chain, marketing, operations and compliance—to share market insights, support campaigns and achieve KPIs.

Required profile

• Fluent English; additional local language proficiency is a plus.
• Knowledge of local compliance and regulatory requirements for consumer products.
• Strong sourcing, merchandising, negotiation and supplier‑management capabilities.
• Understanding of cross‑border e‑commerce operations and international market trends.
• Experience in FMCG, retail, e‑commerce, sourcing, merchandising, procurement or collaboration with local brands and manufacturers.
• Business‑development mindset and cross‑cultural communication skills.
