Development Engineer Airframe

About the role

Airbus Helicopters is seeking a Development Engineer Airframe to join the Airframe Design Engineering team in Marignane. You will work on new helicopter structures from concept to certification, supporting prototypes, industrialisation and retrofit solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Preliminary design of helicopter structures, sub‑assemblies and single parts.
• Create CAD models, drawings and bills of materials, and manage the release process.
• Define manufacturing processes, tooling and quality requirements in collaboration with production.
• Support industrialisation, prototype testing and certification activities up to Type Certificate.
• Select suitable materials and material combinations, ensuring compliance with cost, schedule and quality targets.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or related engineering.
• Knowledge of composite and lightweight metallic materials and helicopter technology.
• Strong analytical and conceptual skills, with flexibility and autonomy.
• Fluent in French and English (negotiation level); German is a plus.

Required skills

• Catia V5 and VPM.
• SAP.
• MS Office and Google Workspace.
