Data Protection Counsel

About the role

Revolut is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to lead privacy, data protection and AI legal matters across its product portfolio. Reporting to the Head of Legal in France, the role can be based in any European office, remotely, or on a hybrid basis, offering a high degree of responsibility for the company’s growth and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Advise the business on privacy, data protection and AI issues related to product structuring and marketing.
• Integrate privacy, data protection and AI considerations into feature review processes.
• Draft and negotiate contractual data protection and AI clauses with third parties and internal entities.
• Manage complex international data transfers to ensure GDPR compliance.
• Support data breach response, including drafting notifications for supervisory authorities.
• Create and maintain customer‑facing privacy notices, explainers and cookie policies.
• Collaborate with global Legal Counsels on cross‑jurisdictional privacy and AI matters.
• Handle complex data‑protection requests requiring legal review.
• Engage proactively with regulators in multiple countries.
• Monitor legal, regulatory and industry developments and advise the business accordingly.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 + years of post‑qualification experience.
• Strong academic background and experience at a reputable law firm.
• Demonstrated expertise in privacy, data protection and AI legal advisory.
