Cryogenic & RF Platform Operations Manager

About the role

The Cryogenic & RF Platform Operations Manager leads a team that ensures the availability and performance of dilution cryostats and their microwave measurement chains, which are critical for quantum‑bit experiments. The role combines hands‑on technical work with team leadership and budget responsibility.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain cryostats, wiring and instrumentation through preventive maintenance, corrective actions and first‑level troubleshooting.
• Plan and execute cooldown/warm‑up cycles, cabling changes and system integrations according to user requests and iteration schedules.
• Oversee in‑house assembly of cryostat components, RF/DC cabling, attenuation, filtering and instrumentation racks, and validate final systems before production.
• Manage a team of engineers and technicians, conduct 1:1s, define hiring needs, supervise the budget and drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Production Management or equivalent.
• 7+ years of experience operating, building or maintaining RF/microwave measurement chains and cryogenic systems in industry or a large research facility.
• Hands‑on credibility with proven experience in building, wiring, debugging or commissioning complex systems.
• Experience leading a technical team or clear readiness to assume that responsibility.
• Strong planning ability under constraints and pragmatic decision‑making with incomplete information.
• Professional proficiency in English and French.
