Controls Hardware Engineer

About the role

Dematic, a global leader in intelligent intralogistics and material handling solutions, is hiring a Controls Hardware Engineer in Bussy Saint Georges. The role focuses on designing and delivering compliant, high-quality electrical systems for automated solutions, selecting and applying control devices, documenting their functionality and producing detailed drawing packages for electrical installation and assembly manufacturing.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret design input to produce control system designs, ensuring CE compliance with the Machinery Directive
• Produce design and manufacturing programmes and all associated documentation, including design calculations, specifications, operation and maintenance manuals and test specifications
• Design electrical layout and schematic drawings using CAD tools
• Procure electrical control panels and installation services and liaise with suppliers on technical matters
• Provide technical information to internal teams such as electrical installation supervisors, subcontractors, project sales, project engineers, project managers and purchasing
• Support the service team with bug fixes, enhancements and modifications

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Controls Hardware Engineer, Electrical Design Engineer or similar
• Degree-level qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
• Extensive hands-on experience in an industrial automation environment
• Willingness to travel up to 20% to customer sites in Northern Europe and occasionally to other Dematic offices

• E-Plan, AutoCAD and MS Package
• Electrical and electronic technical manuals and drawings
• Distributed control systems and industrial network principles
• Machinery Directive and harmonised standards, with FEM and BS standards experience preferred
