Contract Manager – Defence Digital & Cyber

About the role

Airbus Defence and Space is seeking a Contract Manager for its Defence Digital & Cyber business unit, based in Elancourt, France. The role sits within the Commercial & Contracts organisation and reports to the Head of Commercial & Contracts Defence Digital & Cyber. You will provide commercial leadership throughout the full contract lifecycle, from bid preparation to project close‑out.

Key responsibilities

• Lead commercial and contractual activities for bids and contracts, ensuring risks are identified and mitigated.
• Draft, review and amend agreements, change‑orders and claim documents, acting as the main interface between sales, programme teams and legal.
• Coordinate with internal functions such as legal, compliance, finance, treasury, offset and procurement.
• Define flow‑down requirements for suppliers and subcontractors and assess associated financial risks.
• Support customer negotiations, prepare contract documentation for maturity gates and manage pre‑contentious issues.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in contract management, commercial or legal roles, preferably with governmental or defence customers.
• Experience handling French Ministry of Defence contracts, export contracts and related mechanisms.
• Strong academic background in programme management, industrial engineering, finance or sales, with an international work context.
• Ability to work independently under pressure, with strong attention to detail.

Required skills

• Proven negotiation and contract management expertise.
• Knowledge of French government and export contract regulations.
• Familiarity with commercial risk assessment and mitigation.
