Consumer Information Internship (Paris)

About the role

The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is seeking five interns for its Consumer Information Area of Excellence within the 10-Year Framework of Programmes on Sustainable Consumption and Production. Interns will support the coordination desk of the Consumer Information Programme and contribute to three workstreams aimed at promoting greener consumer choices.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in strengthening product green claims through the Retail4Impact initiative.
• Support the development and implementation of Digital Product Information Systems (DPIS) under the D4CE initiative.
• Contribute to the analysis and promotion of ecolabels and certification schemes.
• Provide administrative and research support to the Associate Programme Management Officer.
• Help prepare briefing notes, reports, and communication materials for internal and external stakeholders.

Required profile

• Current enrolment in a university programme related to environmental studies, sustainability, economics, or a similar field.
• Strong interest in sustainable consumption, circular economy, and environmental policy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multicultural team.

• Six‑month full‑time internship (35 hours per week), unpaid.
• Flexible start dates: July‑December 2026 (3 positions) or January‑June 2027 (2 positions).
• Option to work onsite at UNEP’s Paris office or fully remote using personal IT equipment.
