Construction Manager

About the role

Alstom is seeking a Construction Manager to support tender preparation and early‑stage construction activities for railway projects. The role combines technical expertise in construction methodology, scheduling, and coordination with partners to ensure efficient project delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Develop work sequences and construction schedules during the tender phase, using gap analysis and standard methods.
• Review and obtain approval for methodology, tools, and schedules from product lines.
• Provide technical support for risk mitigation, construction optimisations, and challenge partner schedules.
• Assist bid managers in negotiations with consortium partners and clients.
• Coach and guide other Construction Managers and contribute to shared best‑practice databases.
• During execution, monitor EHS compliance, quality processes, work sequencing, and construction progress.
• Audit construction activities against the master schedule and propose mitigations.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in construction coordination on railway projects.
• Strong knowledge of railway systems, technologies, and construction processes.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict‑management skills.
• Ability to multitask and work collaboratively with diverse teams.

Required skills

• Scheduling methods: Time Chainage, GANTT.
• Scheduling tools: Primavera, Tilos, Microsoft Project.
