Connectivity & Communications System Engineer

About the role

Airbus Defence & Space is seeking a senior Connectivity & Communications System Engineer to join its Comms Systems Architectures team in Toulouse, France. The role focuses on delivering high‑performance communication and connectivity solutions for aerospace platforms, ensuring they meet stringent integration, verification, certification and security requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead system‑engineering activities for communication and connectivity subsystems, covering integration, verification, certification and security accreditation.
• Participate in internal and external technical reviews, progress meetings and customer discussions.
• Capture and translate customer requirements into detailed design documentation.
• Coordinate closely with the Chief Engineering Office, other system work‑packages and communications design offices.
• Maintain compliance awareness and manage potential risks throughout the project lifecycle.

Required profile

• University degree in Engineering (PhD or Master’s in Telecommunications preferred).
• Senior‑level experience in communications, connectivity or avionics engineering.
• Hands‑on knowledge of aircraft and communications architecture for at least one platform (e.g., UAS, MRTT, C295, A400M).
• Familiarity with system‑engineering deliverables (DPs, ABDs) and aerospace certification processes.
