Computational Biologist

About the role

As a Computational Biologist at Owkin you will join a multidisciplinary Biomedical team that builds agentic AI systems for drug discovery. You will work on cutting‑edge multi‑omics projects, helping to uncover novel drug targets, biomarkers and disease subtypes using both classical and AI‑driven methods.

Key responsibilities

• Perform analyses on genomic, transcriptomic (spatial, single‑cell, bulk), proteomic and other omics datasets to identify targets and biomarkers.
• Develop and apply machine‑learning and deep‑learning pipelines for multi‑omics integration and interpretation.
• Collaborate with AI scientists, chemists, medical doctors and other experts to design validation strategies and generate scientific reports.
• Contribute to internal R&D by improving Owkin’s Toolbox and publishing visualisations and findings.

Required profile

• PhD or MSc in computational biology, bioinformatics, machine learning, computer science or a related field.
• Experience with NGS data processing pipelines and early‑stage drug discovery tasks such as target identification and patient stratification.
• Strong understanding of molecular and cellular biology, especially cancer or related diseases.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Python programming.
• Machine‑learning libraries: scikit‑learn, XGBoost.
• NGS and multi‑omics data processing pipelines.
• Single‑cell RNA‑seq and spatial transcriptomics analysis.
• Use of autonomous AI agents and agentic workflows for data analysis.
