Competition Lawyer

About the role

Our client, a leading consumer‑facing international business, is looking for a commercially astute Competition Lawyer to join its growing legal team. The role sits at the heart of strategic decision‑making, providing expert guidance on EU competition matters across multiple European markets.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert advice on EU competition law, focusing on abuse of dominance and horizontal/vertical agreements.
• Support M&A activity through competition risk analysis, merger control processes, and integration planning.
• Develop and implement pragmatic, business‑oriented compliance programmes for a consumer‑facing environment.
• Advise on distribution strategies, pricing, partnerships, and market conduct in a B2C context.
• Engage with external counsel and competition authorities as required.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with 10+ years post‑qualification experience in EU competition law.
• Strong background in both private practice and in‑house settings.
• Demonstrated expertise in abuse of dominance and agreement matters, preferably within a B2C business.
• Experience supporting M&A transactions from a competition perspective.
• Commercially focused with the ability to balance legal risk and business objectives.
• Confident communicator capable of influencing senior stakeholders.
