Communication Officer – Climate Adaptation (Brussels/Besançon)

About the role

Energy Cities is seeking a Communication Officer to lead communication activities on climate adaptation across its EU‑funded projects. The role will support corporate communication, fundraising, and the development of digital content while collaborating with project partners in Brussels or Besançon.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement communication strategies for energy and climate transition projects.
• Coordinate partners to deliver communication plans and monitor outcomes.
• Create content on adaptation topics for corporate channels, newsletters, and thematic bulletins.
• Produce compelling material for fundraising proposals and donor communications.
• Assist in organising events, webinars and other outreach activities.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of advocacy communication experience on energy or climate topics, preferably at the local level.
• Master’s degree in communications, marketing, political science or a related field.
• Experience leading communication work packages for EU‑funded projects.
• Proven ability to work autonomously and manage multiple deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficient use of graphic design tools for brochures, reports and social‑media visuals.
