Commercial Event Director – Entertainment & AI

About the role

The Commercial Event Director will shape and execute the commercial strategy for a portfolio of flagship entertainment, big data and AI events. Reporting to senior leadership, you will act as the commercial architect and ambassador, driving growth and ensuring alignment across multiple event brands.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement the commercial strategy for Entertainment and Big Data & AI event portfolios.
• Lead and develop a team of senior commercial leaders, including Sales Directors and Heads of Office.
• Support strategic account development and nurture high‑value client relationships.
• Introduce structure, processes and accountability to drive commercial transformation.
• Collaborate closely with Marketing and Operations to maximise event growth and attendee engagement.
• Identify new market opportunities, including emerging segments such as the creator economy and digital content.
• Represent the organisation at industry gatherings, client meetings and strategic networking events.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading commercial strategy for large‑scale events or conferences.
• Strong track record of managing senior commercial teams and driving revenue growth.
• Ability to work with senior stakeholders and align diverse personalities around a common vision.
• Strategic mindset with a focus on market expansion and portfolio development.
