Cargo Operations Officer

About the role

The Cargo Operations Officer leads the Global Business Support Cargo Operations team, ensuring efficient and compliant vessel and cargo handling across the Group’s worldwide network.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage daily vessel port calls from nomination to departure, coordinating with shipping lines, terminals, port authorities and internal stakeholders.
• Oversee cargo execution, including berth arrangements, loading/discharge performance, dangerous goods documentation and non‑standard cargo solutions.
• Monitor operations, identify risks, manage escalations and drive continuous improvement and process standardisation.
• Provide accurate operational reporting, post‑sailing reconciliation, invoice verification and cost‑control support.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Maritime Transportation, Shipping, International Trade, Supply Chain or related field.
• Proven experience in vessel or cargo operations, port agency, liner shipping or terminal environments.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management and organisational skills.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Experience with operational maritime systems (e.g., EDI, vessel scheduling tools).
• Knowledge of container shipping operations and IMDG regulations.
