CAD Engineer – Train Interiors Design

About the role

The CAD Engineer will be responsible for creating and detailing interior components of trains using digital mock‑up tools. Working within Alstom’s train design environment, the role ensures that interior parts meet performance, weight, acoustic, eco‑design and aerodynamic criteria.

Key responsibilities

• Design and draw interior parts of the train in the digital mock‑up using CATIA V5 and DMA, considering weight, acoustics, eco‑design, aerodynamics and aeraulics.
• Deploy and apply train design development procedures, catalogues and standard solutions.
• Optimize part designs to achieve cost targets and meet planning commitments.
• Collaborate with external engineering subcontractors and site CAD engineers.
• Check digital mock‑up consistency, ensuring no interferences, correct equipment localisation, volume and interface alignment.
• Prepare design review elements with support from the Lead Engineer.

Required profile

• Engineering educational background.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in mechanical part design.
• Excellent proficiency in CATIA V5.
• Knowledge of DMA is a plus.
• Fluent English communication skills.
