Battlefield Simulation System Engineer

About the role

The Battlefield Simulation System Engineer will design and implement high‑fidelity, multi‑domain simulations that support the development of next‑generation rotorcraft. Working within the Situational Awareness and Mission Management department, you will help ensure pilots, crews and planners are prepared for complex contested environments.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate battlefield simulation activities for projects such as ENGRT2 and NGRC, collaborating with European industry partners and NATO.
• Develop mission architecture models using Cameo (UAF, SysML) and translate them into executable constructive simulations (e.g., VR‑Forces).
• Integrate realistic physics, terrain, weather and sensor models, and implement AI/ML algorithms to emulate friendly and adversary forces.
• Conduct testing, validation and verification of simulation components, ensuring compliance with standards and operational requirements.
• Produce documentation (high‑level requirements, CONOPS) and deliver training to end‑users across Airbus Helicopters and Airbus Group.

Required profile

• Strong background in model‑based systems engineering (MBSE) and experience with simulation lifecycle management.
• Proven ability to work in multidisciplinary, transnational teams and to communicate technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
• Experience with defence or aerospace simulation projects, preferably involving rotorcraft or multi‑domain operations.
