About the role
As an Automotive Design Engineer (F/H) you will join ABMI’s product development team in Châteauroux, focusing on the conception of interior trim systems and instrument panels for vehicles. Reporting to the Product Development Manager, you will lead the design process from concept to production, ensuring compliance with functional, aesthetic and safety requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Define and develop interior trim and dashboard concepts in line with project specifications.
- Coordinate with cross‑functional teams (mechanical, electrical, manufacturing) to integrate designs.
- Create detailed 3D models and engineering drawings.
- Validate designs through simulations, prototypes and testing.
- Manage design documentation and maintain traceability throughout the product lifecycle.
Required profile
- Engineering degree in Mechanical, Automotive or related field.
- Proven experience in automotive interior or dashboard design.
- Strong understanding of material properties, ergonomics and regulatory standards.
- Ability to lead projects and communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
