Automation Engineer (Siemens TIA) – Contract, Immediate Start in France

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to join a fast‑paced, multi‑site automation programme across France and other EU locations. The role is contract‑based (initial 3 months) with the possibility of extension, and involves hands‑on development, testing and commissioning of PLC solutions using Siemens TIA Portal.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, test and commission PLC code in Siemens TIA Portal (v16+).
• Support fault‑finding and troubleshooting on live automated systems.
• Lead and contribute to process‑improvement initiatives.
• Integrate and migrate code across different TIA Portal versions.
• Assist with deployment and commissioning of new automation projects.
• Act as a technical point of contact for contractors and permanent engineers.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in coding and commissioning with Siemens TIA.
• Strong knowledge of Siemens TIA Portal (v16 or higher).
• Excellent communication skills in English.
• Proven project‑management and organisational abilities.
• Ability to work autonomously and travel frequently across France and EU sites.
• Understanding of machine safety regulations and safe working practices.

• Fieldbus expertise – Profinet, Profibus, AS‑i.
• Ignition platform for SCADA/HMI development (desired).
• SCADA and OEE concepts.
