Assistant General Counsel – Telecoms & Renewables

About the role

Unison is seeking an Assistant General Counsel to support its fast‑growing telecoms and renewable infrastructure business in France and across Europe. Based in Nice, you will work closely with senior management and cross‑functional teams to drive acquisitions, manage legal risk, and accelerate transaction closing.

Key responsibilities

• Provide general legal support to the Regional General Counsel – Europe.
• Coordinate and manage telecom infrastructure acquisitions, including cell towers, from initiation to closing under French law.
• Conduct real‑estate due diligence (leases, title checks, land registry) and prepare pre‑closing reports, closing statements and financial summaries.
• Liaise with brokers, tower operators, site owners, external counsel, notaries, banks and other advisors.
• Draft, review and negotiate contracts, leases, and notarial deeds.
• Support the expansion of Unison’s renewable energy portfolio by working with landowners and developers, assessing underwriting risk and facilitating negotiations.
• Train origination teams on real‑estate and regulatory matters and maintain transaction records in internal systems.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with substantial experience in telecoms or renewable energy transactions.
• Proven ability to accelerate complex transactions to closing.
• Strong judgment in risk assessment, underwriting and portfolio management.
• Hands‑on, entrepreneurial mindset with the capacity to work across multiple jurisdictions.
