Applications Specialist – Wastewater Treatment (Europe)

About the role

Solenis is seeking an Applications Specialist to support its European water‑treatment business. The role combines technical expertise in industrial and municipal wastewater processes with customer‑facing activities to drive growth and deliver sustainable solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with the European sales organization to provide advanced technical support and develop customer solutions.
• Lead strategic opportunities and major tenders through site assessments, technical audits, solution design, proposal creation and presentations.
• Conduct wastewater surveys, process evaluations and operational audits to identify optimisation opportunities.
• Develop and deliver technical training for customers, sales teams and internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate with R&D, product management and application teams on new product introductions and technology validation.
• Quantify customer value via case studies, ROI calculations, sustainability assessments and Value Advantage projects.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, digital tools and knowledge‑sharing platforms.
• Support implementation of digital monitoring and control solutions to improve performance.
• Travel across Europe (50‑70%) to support customers and business development.

Required profile

• Degree in Chemistry, Environmental Engineering or a related field.
• Significant experience with industrial and/or municipal wastewater treatment technologies, including sludge treatment and dewatering.
• Familiarity with municipal tendering processes and EU regulatory requirements.
• Strong communication skills in English; additional languages are a plus.
• Ability to work independently and within cross‑functional teams.
