Accounting Director – Group Finance Leadership

About the role

Betclic is seeking an Accounting Director to lead its Group accounting function, ensuring reliable financial reporting and compliance across multiple entities. Reporting to the CFO, you will manage a team of around 25 accountants located in Malta, Bordeaux and Abidjan.

Key responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly and annual closing processes for the Group and ensure data quality.
• Supervise preparation of statutory accounts and compliance with French GAAP and IFRS.
• Define and harmonise accounting policies, procedures and closing calendars across entities.
• Manage relationships with statutory auditors and oversee complex transaction accounting.
• Develop accounting KPIs, drive automation and continuous improvement.
• Support finance transformation, ERP implementation and integration of acquired businesses.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant or chartered accountant with at least 15 years of experience in both firm and in‑house roles.
• Proven experience managing and structuring accounting teams in a high‑growth, international environment.
• Fluent in English and French with strong commercial acumen.
• Proactive, rigorous and technically minded with a passion for people management.

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of French GAAP.
• Good understanding of IFRS.
• Chartered accountant qualification.
