Account Director – European Club Football & UK Sports

About the role

BDA, a global merchandise agency, is hiring an Account Director for its European Club Football and UK Sports business. The role oversees and manages key client relationships on a national, European and potentially global scale, and leads the account team. It is based near Neuilly-sur-Seine or Kissing (Bavaria) with a flexible onsite schedule of 3-4 days per week, or fully remote for those outside commuting distance.

Key responsibilities

• Nurture long-term client relationships, drive revenue growth and identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities
• Analyze accounts financially (revenue, gross margins, operating expenses) and generate regular reports for senior leadership
• Help set revenue and margin goals for the team and support the growth of a client portfolio of $10M plus
• Own client business reviews, monitor satisfaction and retain clients
• Meet and exceed sales targets within budgets and forecasts, and coach and mentor other account managers
• Manage performance documentation (CDPs, PIPs, warnings), assist in recruiting and manage the contact and opportunity database

Required profile

• 7+ years of proven experience in sales, business development and account management
• Track record of growing sales and business opportunities through client development
• Experience negotiating pricing, contracts and terms; contract management abilities
• Promotional merchandise experience preferred but not required

Required skills

• MS Office suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
• CRM software and sales/order management tools (Salesforce preferred)
• Financial acumen, analytical thinking and strong negotiation and communication skills

What we offer

• Base salary range of EUR 65,000 to EUR 75,000, with starting salaries typically within this range
• Possibility of incentive compensation on certain revenue-generating positions
