Workforce Finance & People Analytics Analyst

About the role

The Workforce Finance & People Analytics Analyst supports EPEX SPOT by linking HR planning with financial control. Reporting to the Head of Controlling, the role ensures accurate workforce budgeting, cost monitoring and provides analytical insights for strategic decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with directors, heads of units and HR to produce accurate workforce plans for staff and consultants.
• Prepare, track and analyse personnel cost budgets, including salaries, benefits and related expenses.
• Maintain a live headcount plan and translate hiring forecasts into financial impact for budgets and rolling forecasts.
• Develop and automate KPI dashboards to monitor cost‑per‑head, department costs and resource deployment.
• Ensure monthly and annual reporting consistency, identify variances between payroll, budget and actuals, and reconcile payroll entries with the general ledger.
• Support implementation and optimisation of workforce planning tools and HR controlling processes.

Required profile

• Strong financial background with knowledge of accounting processes.
• Basic understanding of payroll and its link to accounting.
• Excellent analytical mindset and attention to detail.
• Collaborative team player with effective communication skills for senior stakeholders.
• Business‑oriented attitude and ability to translate data into actionable insights.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP.
• Data analysis and reporting automation capabilities.
