Video Research Scientist

About the role

InterDigital’s Video Lab is seeking a Video Research Scientist to join the Media Services research group. The role will focus on high‑dynamic‑range (HDR) content creation, color science and video delivery, contributing to the Video Production Services project.

Key responsibilities

• Integrate and potentially lead research activities within the Video Production Services project.
• Design innovative solutions, tools, methods and standards to improve professional content‑production workflows.
• Develop both conventional and AI‑enabled computer‑vision algorithms for video processing.
• Identify and explore technical tracks such as HDR, Wide Color Gamut, and Color Management for high‑quality content.
• Participate in international standardisation activities (ISO/IEC/MPEG, ITU‑T, JVET, etc.).

Required profile

• Strong background in image and video processing, with expertise in HDR technology and color science.
• Experience in video compression, machine‑learning and computer‑vision research.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced research environment and collaborate with standardisation bodies.
