Transmission System Design Responsible

About the role

Join the Transmission Design & Dynamic Systems Architecture department at Airbus Helicopters in the Marseille area. As the Transmission System Design Responsible, you will lead the definition, development and certification of transmission systems for the entire Airbus Helicopters fleet.

Key responsibilities

• Define technical objectives and write specifications for transmission systems.
• Oversee detailed design, ensuring compliance with performance, manufacturing, assembly and reliability requirements.
• Manage design changes and new certifications in line with Airbus Helicopters processes (CES, HTech, EP, EI).
• Prepare and follow up flight and bench test requests, analyse results and document conclusions.
• Lead certification activities, including document preparation and liaison with EASA.
• Collaborate with internal teams (stress analysis, quality, production, labs, flight tests, configuration, airworthiness) and external suppliers.

Required profile

• 5‑year degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the aeronautical domain or gearbox industry.
• Strong synthesis ability, rigorous approach and good communication skills.
• Advanced English and negotiation‑level French; German is a plus.
• Eligibility for security clearance as required by authorities.
