Technicien R&D Procédés Composites

About the role

The IRT Jules Verne research institute is looking for an experienced R&D Technician specialized in industrial composite manufacturing processes. The role is based within the Technological Research Team for Processes & Composite Materials and will support innovative projects for partners such as Airbus, Naval Group, Daher, Safran, and Hutchinson.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and test new composite material transformation technologies, including dry‑fabric preforming and liquid injection (RTM) trials.
• Conduct experiments on robotic production lines for lay‑up, assembly and related operations.
• Propose, modify and test equipment such as pre‑formers and preforming machines.
• Install and dismantle tooling, including large‑scale fixtures.
• Write detailed test reports and document project results.
• Build demonstrators that showcase internal innovations.
• Contribute to the definition and use of research equipment platforms.
• Support knowledge transfer through patents and technology dissemination.

Required profile

• Minimum 12 years of experience in composite part manufacturing or development.
• Technical background in composite materials with solid understanding of structural mechanics.
• Ability to work autonomously, meet objectives, ensure high‑quality results and collaborate within a team.

Required skills

• Knowledge of reinforcement architectures (carbon, glass, aramid; UD, NCF, fabrics).
• Experience with thermoset resin systems and pre‑impregnated materials.
• Proficiency in dry‑fabric preforming and RTM processes.
• Hands‑on experience with robotic lay‑up and assembly equipment.
• Capability to install, adjust and maintain large‑scale tooling.
• Technical report writing.
