Technical Professional in NDCs, Long-Term Strategies and Climate Policy Coordination

About the role

The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is seeking a Technical Professional to strengthen the integration of Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) and Long‑Term Strategies (LTS) across its Climate Change Division. The consultant will support the implementation of the PAF Argentina and other NDC Act & Invest projects, build national capacities and promote policy coherence in line with the Paris Agreement.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the implementation of the PAF Argentina and regional NDC Act & Invest projects.
• Develop and deliver capacity‑building activities for public and private actors to embed climate considerations into national agendas.
• Promote policy coherence across climate, sectoral and investment planning frameworks, including NDCs, LTS, NAPs, NBSAPs and related strategies.
• Contribute to the enabling conditions required for the implementation of NDC 3.0.
• Provide technical advice on climate change mitigation and adaptation, public policy and multilateral climate finance.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of climate change activities, NDC and LTS processes, and mitigation/adaptation projects.
• Experience with public policy development and multilateral climate funds.
• Ability to lead the development of deliverables and advise UNEP teams on relevant topics.
