Team Leader – Night Shift at Sorting Center

About the role

The Team Leader will oversee the night‑shift operations of a high‑volume sorting centre, ensuring parcels are processed efficiently, quality standards are met and cost targets are achieved. The role also serves as the deputy to the Operations Manager, maintaining operational continuity during absences.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate daily inbound, sorting and outbound activities, monitoring real‑time flow and adjusting manpower as needed.
• Achieve key performance indicators such as throughput, scan compliance, error rate and dispatch timeliness.
• Conduct shift briefings, monitor attendance, productivity and discipline, and coach operators and line leads.
• Analyse shift performance, identify root causes of delays or mis‑sorts and implement corrective actions.
• Act as Operations Manager when required, handling escalations, making operational decisions and liaising with cross‑functional teams.
• Enforce safety protocols, ensure compliance with SOPs and labour regulations, and maintain a safe work environment.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a sorting centre, warehouse or logistics hub, preferably high‑volume.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage 20‑50+ operators.
• Solid understanding of operational KPIs such as productivity, quality and cost per parcel.
• Ability to work under pressure, make fast‑paced decisions and adapt to volume fluctuations.
• Excellent problem‑solving, analytical and communication abilities.

Required skills

• WMS (Warehouse Management System) knowledge.
• Familiarity with automated or semi‑automated sorting systems.
• Experience using performance dashboards for monitoring KPIs.
