Stress Engineer – Structural Analysis (F/M)

About the role

Reporting to the Head of the Stress Office, you will work as a structural stress engineer supporting development, production, and in‑service activities for ATR aircraft. The role involves validating and justifying structural damage, repairs, non‑conformities, and design modifications in accordance with JAR/CS, FAR and ATR Design Organisation Approval requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Produce static, fatigue and damage‑tolerance stress justifications for aircraft structures.
• Coordinate with ATR suppliers and subcontractors to define and validate stress justification approaches.
• Validate stress notes delivered by suppliers and partners (Airbus Atlantic, Leonardo).
• Provide technical stress advice and support to other groups within the Structures department and the wider Engineering directorate.
• Ensure compliance with aeronautical regulations and maintain documentation such as SRM and NTM.

Required profile

• Master’s degree (or equivalent) in aeronautical or mechanical engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in structural stress analysis for aircraft.
• English proficiency at B2 level (technical English required); French B2 is a plus.
• Willingness to travel in France and abroad and to work on a 24/7 shift schedule.
• Strong rigor, autonomy, pro‑activity, flexibility and ability to work under pressure.

Required skills

• Static, fatigue and damage‑tolerance analysis methods for metallic and composite structures.
• Knowledge of aeronautical regulations (JAR/CS, FAR).
• Proficiency with structural analysis tools such as Patran/Nastran, Safe, Isami or equivalents.
• Experience handling in‑service and production issues.
• Familiarity with aircraft structural manuals (SRM, NTM).
