Stress Engineer

About the role

Airbus Defence and Space is seeking a Stress Engineer to join its new Stress Department (TADAA2) in Toulouse, France. You will work on an upcoming military program within the Military Derivatives department, contributing to the development of advanced aerospace structures.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse and validate metallic‑composite and hybrid structures from a stress perspective.
• Prepare, review and justify stress dossiers, test programmes and technical reports.
• Define justification approaches and monitor progress together with Technical Authority and senior engineers.
• Support manufacturing by assessing non‑conformities and providing corrective recommendations.
• Collaborate closely with design engineers and act as interface with internal and external stakeholders, including civil and military authorities and subcontractors.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (or equivalent).
• Minimum three years of professional experience in stress analysis.
• Good knowledge of Airbus calculation methods and standards.

Required skills

• Stress analysis of metallic composites and hybrid structures.
• Proficiency with Airbus calculation methods.
• Technical report writing and justification documentation.
