Software Engineer – Vehicle Motion Planning & Control

About the role

Zendar is looking for a Software Engineer to join its Vehicle Motion Planning & Control team in Paris. You will own components from algorithm design through real‑time C++ implementation, simulation, tuning, and on‑vehicle validation, helping autonomous vehicles navigate safely and comfortably.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build the motion‑planning stack, developing trajectory planning and decision‑making algorithms for dynamic, uncertain environments.
• Architect, implement, and validate longitudinal and lateral vehicle control and estimation algorithms in mission‑critical C++.
• Integrate planning and control with perception and platform teams, defining clean interfaces.
• Support driving‑function demos from bring‑up to customer‑facing runs, and create simulation and analysis tools in Python and C++.
• Define metrics for driving quality and safety, extract insights from field data, and contribute to hazard analyses.

Required profile

• 3+ years of software engineering experience with production‑quality C++ and Python.
• Hands‑on experience in motion planning, decision making, or vehicle controls for autonomous vehicles or robotics.
• Solid foundation in linear algebra, geometry, statistics, probability, and vehicle dynamics.
• Proven ability to take features from design through real‑world deployment.
• Willingness to work on‑site in Paris at least Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.
