Software Engineer, Platform

About the role

This fully remote position is for a Software Engineer, Platform who will design and build the backend infrastructure powering products used by millions worldwide. You will work in a distributed engineering organization, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to deliver secure, high‑performance services.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable backend APIs for authentication, payments, subscriptions, analytics, consumption tracking and text‑to‑speech services.
• Build and optimise reliable backend systems with a focus on scalability, performance, security and maintainability.
• Manage the overall backend API ecosystem, ensuring seamless integration across internal services and external developer APIs.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to align architecture with strategy and user experience goals.
• Develop enterprise‑ready solutions and integrations for B2B customers.
• Participate in architectural discussions, technical planning and continuous platform improvements.

Required profile

• Proven professional experience in backend software development.
• Strong experience designing and building scalable RESTful APIs and distributed systems.
• Hands‑on experience with Google Cloud Platform; familiarity with AWS or Azure is a plus.
• Ability to balance rapid execution with thoughtful technical decision‑making in fast‑paced environments.
• Experience collaborating with cross‑functional engineering and product teams.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in fully remote, asynchronous settings.
