Software Engineer Object Storage

About the role

Scaleway is looking for a Software Engineer to join its Object Storage team. You will own the technical development of the company’s S3‑compatible platform, driving architecture projects and expanding the service across new regions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead high‑impact projects such as opening new regions/availability zones and designing new service classes.
• Integrate and deploy new functionalities for the home‑grown S3‑compatible Object Storage platform.
• Bridge low‑level system administration with high‑quality DevOps practices.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex distributed‑system anomalies and infrastructure incidents.
• Collect and prioritize customer feedback and internal operation requests.
• Escalate software bugs and request product evolutions from the backend SDS core engineering team.

Required profile

• Experience working in collaborative, international teams.
• Technical ownership of large‑scale storage services.
• Ability to manage massive deployments across more than 1,000 servers.
• Strong communication with backend (Beekeeper) and SRE storage teams.
