Software Engineer – JVM Backend (Java/Kotlin)

About the role

Pelico builds an AI‑driven manufacturing orchestration platform used by leading industrial players such as Airbus, Boeing and Safran. As a Software Engineer focused on the JVM stack, you will design and optimise the ETL backend that transforms high‑volume factory data into a live operational picture.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and optimise Java/Kotlin ETL components for large‑scale data ingestion and processing.
• Architect scalable, modular services ensuring data integrity, security and high availability across distributed environments.
• Integrate third‑party APIs and collaborate with DevOps to improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment strategies.
• Mentor junior engineers through code reviews and promote Java best practices.
• Write clean, maintainable code and drive unit, integration and performance testing.

Required profile

• Strong proficiency in Java or Kotlin for backend development.
• Solid understanding of relational databases, API design and distributed‑system concepts.
• Experience with performance optimisation, SOLID principles and design patterns.
• Hands‑on experience with automated testing, CI/CD pipelines and technical documentation.
• Comfortable using AI tools to enhance productivity and coding workflows.
