Software Engineer I – Full‑Time – Paris

About the role

We are looking for Software Engineers who bring fresh ideas, have a curious nature and are passionate about building products that achieve the company’s strategic goals. You will work with cross‑functional teams across Checkout.com’s portfolio, leading and driving specific projects critical to our needs.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and drive specific projects critical to Checkout’s needs.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions.
• Define and design loosely coupled, scalable systems in a micro‑services architecture.
• Write clean, maintainable, extendable and testable code.
• Build, own and operate systems to the highest levels of resilience and service.
• Mentor junior team members and assist in their technical development.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proficiency in C# .NET, Java, or Go.
• Great communication skills and ability to interact effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
• Experience working in agile environments and delivering high‑quality code within tight deadlines.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Interest in AI and willingness to embrace the latest technology.
• Payments or financial knowledge is a plus.
