Software Engineer - Developer

About the role

Scaleway is looking for a Software Engineer to help design and build core IaaS and PaaS components that power its sovereign cloud services. You will work in a collaborative, international team focused on creating reliable, scalable infrastructure products.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop new IaaS/PaaS products from scratch, including APIs, backend services, and worker processes.
• Add features to existing cloud offerings and improve code‑base testing coverage and resilience.
• Write clear technical documentation for product usage and APIs.
• Ensure maintainability and scalability of the code through best practices.
• Participate in operational “Run” rotations and resolve customer‑facing incidents.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, Front‑end and Documentation teams.
• Propose new solutions and contribute to architecture discussions.
• Engage in team rituals such as peer reviews and pair programming.

Required profile

• Curious, methodical and eager to propose technical solutions.
• Strong team player with a collaborative mindset.
• Comfortable working in English, especially for writing technical documentation.
• Willing to continuously share knowledge and improve as a team.

Required skills

• Proficiency in at least one programming language.
• Experience with API development.
• Backend development experience.
• Knowledge of building worker services.
