Senior Staff Engineer, Full Stack and Operations

About the role

Semtech's Cloud Platform Engineering team, based in Toulouse, builds and operates the connected infrastructure that links IoT devices to cloud services used by customers and partners. It works at global scale with the focus of a specialist engineering group. The Senior Staff Engineer, Full-Stack and Operations is a key technical contributor across the full lifecycle of the Cloud Platform, from solution design and development to live operations and on-call support, with a focus on backend systems such as account management and back-office tooling.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to application solution design and the high-level architecture of Cloud Platform software.
• Work on detailed design, coding and testing, delivering robust software with comprehensive automated test coverage.
• Plan development projects in a team setting: create and manage tasks, record time accurately and track progress against commitments.
• Support live operations through proactive troubleshooting, defect resolution, operational improvements and minor enhancements.
• Document application design clearly in the collaboration documentation system.
• Take part in the on-call rotation supporting live operations.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• At least 7 years of experience in application software development.
• At least 5 years of hands-on experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, ReactJS and NodeJS.
