Senior Separation Scientist - Preparative Chromatography

About the role

Join Servier's Bolbec R&D center as a Senior Separation Scientist, focusing on preparative chromatography to develop purification processes for active pharmaceutical ingredients. You will work in a GMP‑compliant environment, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to bring innovative oncology and cardiology medicines to market.

Key responsibilities

• Develop purification processes (preparative HPLC, batch, SFC, SMB) from gram to multi‑kilogram scale.
• Act as primary contact for project coordination, ensuring timely batch deliveries and information flow to project managers.
• Monitor outsourced research projects, providing expert guidance and oversight.
• Conduct literature reviews, write study reports, and manage the chromatography instrument fleet.
• Maintain strict compliance with GMP and HSE regulations.
• Communicate progress and results to internal teams and management.

Required profile

• PhD, Engineer or Master’s degree in organic, analytical or process chemistry.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in preparative chromatography.
• Proficiency in English.

Required skills

• Preparative liquid chromatography, supercritical fluid chromatography (SFC) and simulated moving‑bed (SMB) techniques.
• Project management in a GMP environment.
• Use of digital tools for process development such as Design of Experiments (DOE), AQBD and Bayesian optimization.
