Senior R&D Finance Controller

About the role

The Senior R&D Finance Controller leads the financial consolidation, budgeting, forecasting and analysis for the Research & Development department. Reporting to the Vice President, Finance for R&D, the role ensures that all financial activities align with IPSEN Group accounting standards and global R&D policies.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee CSO consolidation and all R&D financial operations, ensuring accurate and timely management accounts.
• Develop and manage the R&D budgeting and forecasting processes, including 5‑year and long‑range planning.
• Provide financial analysis and insights for project decisions, resource allocation and cost optimisation.
• Coordinate with internal cost controllers, asset/project controllers and global FP&A teams.
• Support financial processes such as clinical trial accounting, portfolio valuation and new global R&D process optimisation.
• Conduct financial assessments for mergers, licensing, acquisitions and external collaborations.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in finance and controlling within a large, multinational R&D environment.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial statements and consolidation.
• Proven ability to work with cross‑functional teams and senior leadership.
• Excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills.
