Senior Propulsion Durability and Verification Specialist

About the role

Airbus is seeking a Senior Propulsion Durability and Verification Specialist to join the Propulsion Validation & Verification department in Toulouse, France. You will work on evaluating design risks and testing commercial propulsion systems to ensure operational reliability for the future Airbus fleet.

Key responsibilities

• Drive verification strategies and evaluate Engine Development Plans for product development and technology maturation.
• Provide technical guidance on ground and flight test definition, instrumentation, test readiness, and flight clearances.
• Perform qualitative and numerical analysis of power‑plant component durability, reliability, and degradation mechanisms.
• Coordinate Time‑on‑Wing analyses, forecasting Mean Time Between Unit Removals (MTBUR).
• Investigate in‑service and production issues to support integrity, reliability, and safety assessments.
• Upskill propulsion engineering teams on engine durability, reliability analysis, and verification.

Required profile

• Engineering degree with at least 10 years of propulsion engineering experience at a major aero‑engine manufacturer.
• Proven experience in aero‑engine verification and testing, including subsystem rig testing, full‑scale ground testing, and flight testing.
• Knowledge of validation and verification methods, design assurance and certification processes (CS‑E, CS‑25).
• Understanding of engine removal causes, hot‑section durability drivers, and mechanical part failure mechanisms.
• Experience with Time‑on‑Wing evaluation using detailed lifing models and statistical approaches.
