Senior Legal Counsel Digital

About the role

Alstom is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to join its Legal IP & Digital team. You will provide legal guidance for the company’s digital and software activities, ensuring compliance with licensing, open‑source, cybersecurity, data and AI regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Support operational teams developing Alstom software solutions, structuring licensing models and road‑maps.
• Manage legal aspects of Open Source Software used by Alstom developers, including risk analysis and compliance.
• Draft guidelines and provide legal advice for software acquisition from third parties, covering cybersecurity and product security.
• Assist tender and procurement teams on cybersecurity service offers, SaaS integrations, escrow agreements, and related contractual matters.
• Define business models for Alstom‑owned software (SaaS, on‑premises, other structures) and establish RACI frameworks with internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate with VP Group Product & Solutions Cybersecurity on EU regulations such as CRA and NIS2, and participate in related governance.
• Contribute to data management and AI regulatory compliance initiatives.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in legal counsel roles focused on digital, software, and IP matters.
• Strong knowledge of software licensing, open‑source compliance, and cybersecurity regulations.
• Familiarity with EU digital regulations, including CRA and NIS2.
• Proven ability to support cross‑functional teams, tender processes, and procurement activities.
• Excellent analytical and drafting skills, with a strategic mindset.
