Senior HR Business Partner

About the role

Shift is seeking a Senior HR Business Partner to join its Paris‑based People Team and support the Engineering squads. In this hands‑on position you will work directly with French leaders, managers and employees to drive performance, career development and day‑to‑day people matters.

Key responsibilities

• Build trusted partnerships with Engineering leaders and managers, translating team dynamics into practical HR actions.
• Manage French employee relations, applying deep knowledge of French employment law and overseeing CSE management.
• Streamline HR processes, documentation and ways of working to reduce complexity for managers and staff.
• Coach and enable managers on feedback, performance management, conflict resolution and communication.
• Listen to feedback, detect emerging organizational patterns and address risks proactively.
• Collaborate with the broader People Team on compensation reviews, organizational design and employee lifecycle improvements.
• Handle sensitive situations and organizational changes calmly, transparently and with high emotional intelligence.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an HR Business Partner, preferably in a fast‑moving technology, SaaS or data‑driven scale‑up environment.
• Strong knowledge of French employment legislation and experience managing employee relations in France.
• Ability to work onsite at least three days per week in Paris.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and problem‑solving skills.
