Senior Customs & Trade Compliance Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Customs & Trade Compliance Specialist to lead and enhance our customs and trade compliance program across the EMEA region for IFF’s Food Ingredients business unit. The role ensures that all import and export activities meet international regulations while supporting operational efficiency and duty‑saving opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Own and continuously improve the EMEA Customs & Trade Compliance program, ensuring adherence to customs regulations, AEO requirements and site authorizations.
• Manage customs licences, authorisations and special procedures such as AEO, IPR and end‑use certifications.
• Lead trade‑preference and non‑preferential origin programmes, including origin determination, supplier solicitations, customer certifications and FTA compliance.
• Monitor regulatory developments, assess business impact and drive implementation of necessary changes.
• Provide expert guidance, training and operational support to Supply Chain, Procurement, Logistics, Regulatory, Finance and Commercial teams.
• Maintain customs master data (tariff classification, valuation, origin, licensing) and conduct self‑audits to ensure compliant import and export operations.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in customs and international trade compliance, preferably within a multinational manufacturing environment.
• Strong analytical abilities and proven track record of implementing process improvements and duty‑saving initiatives.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills across diverse functions and external partners.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of customs regulations and AEO requirements.
• Experience with FTA compliance and origin determination.
• Proficiency in managing customs licences, authorisations and special procedures.
• Ability to maintain and audit customs master data, including tariff classification and valuation.
