Senior Backend Engineer – Voice Squad

About the role

Diabolocom is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join its Voice Squad, the core telephony component of its cloud‑based contact‑centre platform. You will help build and maintain high‑performance, secure services that process phone calls and enable future Telephony‑as‑a‑Service offerings.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain core voice services such as call routing and media stream handling.
• Participate in large‑scale optimisation and refactoring initiatives to accelerate feature delivery.
• Collaborate with QA engineers and other backend developers to ensure reliability and performance.
• Contribute to architectural decisions for distributed systems and evaluate their impact on scalability.

Required profile

• 7+ years of software development experience in product‑focused companies.
• At least 3 years of extensive work with Java and Kotlin.
• Strong experience with relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL.
• Proven ability to design and implement distributed systems and make architectural trade‑offs.
• Self‑driven, comfortable working with an existing codebase and eager to grow into a leadership role.
