Senior Accountant

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our Paris‑based finance team and oversee the accuracy, transparency and compliance of financial operations across our European entities. The role combines day‑to‑day accounting duties with process‑improvement initiatives, supporting both the accounting and controlling functions in a collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Record, verify, consolidate and reconcile transactions, ensuring integrity of accounting workflows.
• Manage month‑end and year‑end close activities in close partnership with the controlling team.
• Oversee general ledger entries, account reconciliations, journal postings, and accounts payable/receivable.
• Maintain fixed‑asset registers, depreciation schedules, accruals, provisions and intercompany transactions.
• Monitor and reconcile bank, credit‑card and investment accounts.
• Prepare and issue customer invoices, coordinate billing schedules and resolve billing discrepancies.
• Support implementation and improvement of automated billing processes in SAP Business One.
• Ensure compliance with local GAAP, IFRS and internal policies; prepare tax filings and VAT declarations.
• Assist external and internal auditors by providing complete documentation and responding to inquiries.
• Recommend and implement best‑practice accounting policies and drive continuous‑improvement projects.
• Provide guidance to junior accountants and collaborate with the Financial Controlling department.

Required profile

• Several years of professional accounting experience, preferably within a multinational environment.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, local GAAP and European tax regulations.
• Proven ability to manage month‑end and year‑end closing processes.
• Excellent analytical mindset and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and mentor junior team members.
