Security Engineer (AWS, SIEM, Threat Hunting)

About the role

MYM is looking for a Security Engineer to own and continuously improve the company’s security posture. Reporting directly to the CTO, you will be responsible for threat detection, incident response, offensive security testing and building the security team in a fast‑growing, AWS‑centric environment.

Key responsibilities

• Own and tune the SIEM platform (Sumo Logic) across all environments, reducing noise and ensuring comprehensive coverage.
• Lead proactive threat detection and hunting activities to identify compromises before they become incidents.
• Drive the full incident lifecycle: triage, response, resolution, post‑mortem analysis and preventive actions.
• Perform forensic investigations on suspicious activity within a multi‑account, multi‑environment AWS infrastructure.
• Execute offensive security operations, including penetration testing and Red Team exercises, to validate defenses.
• Support engineering teams in embedding security best practices into architecture and daily workflows.
• Create and maintain security documentation, standards, runbooks and incident playbooks.
• Help grow the security function by defining hiring needs and scaling processes.

Required profile

• Proven experience owning end‑to‑end security for cloud‑native platforms.
• Strong collaboration skills with back‑end, front‑end, infrastructure and product engineers.
• Ability to act as the internal authority on security standards and guide secure‑by‑design development.

• AWS (multi‑account, Kubernetes, S3, DynamoDB, RDS/PostgreSQL, OpenSearch, MongoDB)
• SIEM management, specifically Sumo Logic
• Threat detection and hunting
• Incident response and forensic analysis
• Penetration testing and Red Team operations
