Security Engineer – Authentication, Identity & Payments

About the role

Join Betclic’s Global Security team as a Security Engineer focused on authentication, identity and payment journeys. You will act as an embedded security partner throughout the product lifecycle, from design to implementation and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct secure design reviews, threat modeling and provide actionable security recommendations.
• Assess existing implementations (source code, APIs, controls) to identify vulnerabilities and improvement opportunities.
• Validate realistic attack paths through controlled security testing or proof‑of‑concept exercises.
• Promote secure development practices, reusable security patterns and support teams in implementing improvements.
• Lead security initiatives across authentication and payment ecosystems and collaborate with Blue/Red Teams, Compliance and Fraud teams.

Required profile

• Experience in cybersecurity with a focus on securing applications or digital products.
• Proven ability to work directly with product and engineering teams in an agile environment.
• Comfortable analyzing both security architecture and implementation details.
• Strong communication skills with developers, architects, product managers and business stakeholders.
• Fluent in English.

Required skills

• Authentication & identity technologies: MFA, passkeys, OIDC, SSO, IAM, session management.
• Security assessment tools: threat modeling, architecture reviews, secure code reviews, controlled offensive testing.
• Security tooling: SAST, DAST, SCA, IaC scanning, secrets management, CI/CD security controls.
• Programming languages: C#, Rust, Kotlin, Dart, Flutter.
• Web and API security knowledge; cloud experience with AWS or Azure is a plus.
