Science Lead (W/M) - Scientific Affairs

About the role

Gnosis by Lesaffre, a Lesaffre subsidiary focused on human health and nutrition, is looking for a Science Lead to join its Scientific Affairs department. The role guides the organisation's scientific ambitions and advises the whole company on scientific developments in the chosen health benefit areas, covering the scientific literature, competing products and the evidence-generating methods used.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the scientific strategy in your areas of expertise so that the science created gives a competitive advantage and strengthens Gnosis' scientific credibility.
• Direct the development of evidence generation plans and lead scientific projects.
• Work closely with R&D, Medical Affairs, Regulatory and Marketing to align scientific and commercial needs.
• Contribute to identifying new research opportunities and developing new concepts and ingredients.
• Represent Gnosis before regulatory and scientific authorities.
• Take part in writing scientific publications and communications.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in life sciences (Master's or PhD).
• 3 to 5 years of experience in the food ingredients, functional products or pharmaceutical industry.
• 1 to 2 years of experience developing evidence generation plans, including clinical trials.
• Proven track record in managing scientific projects and leading across functions.
• Fluent English; knowledge of another global language is an asset.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time.

Required skills

• Excellent knowledge of the systems and models used for scientific substantiation.
• Ability to communicate science clearly, orally and in writing.
• Team player who builds internal and external networks.
